At eight years, the little boy got a high school equivalent diploma because he thought it might be a good idea.
At 12, he was sitting on the beach with his family trying to put together a trotline- a maze of ropes to which several fish hooks could be attracted. At 17 years, he had a job selling newspaper subscription. He thought newlyweds were the best prospects. He hired his friends to copy the name and addresses of recent recipients of marriage licences. He sent a personalized letter to all of them offering each of them a free 2 week subscription. He earned $18,000 and bought an expensive BMW car.
At 19, he started purchasing computers and added features to improve performance. He sold customised computers from his room which resembled a factory. He was in college but couldn't concentrate on studies. His passion was selling computers.
"What exactly is it that you want to do?" asked his father.
"Compete with IBM" he answered simply.
His passion led to the Dell Computer Corporation on May 3, 1984. He was 19.
This man is MICHAEL DELL, the perfect example of a passionate creative entrepreneur.
